Mosbaek wins "Vandet fra Landet" (Water from the Countryside)
The joint proposal of Grontmij (SWECO) and Mosbaek won the ideas competition "Greatest water potential and added value".
The jury's choice was motivated by the factors as follows:
With solution 2.10 "Fauna passable flow regulator", Mosbaek and Grontmij demonstrate their profound insight into the physical and planning-related problems that need to be resolved when establishing a "physical" solution in a natural setting. Moreover, the concept provides some specific ideas for how it is possible to resolve the aforementioned problems. It is not easy to create climatically robust solutions that are adjustable, flexible and can accommodate the vagaries of weather and nature at the same time. Nevertheless, Mosbaek and Grontmij succeeded in submitting a proposal that balances hydraulic capacity with considerations of the natural environment - climate adaptation and biological diversity. Maturity and scalability were also given considerable priority by the jury. In continuation of this, it is assessed that the solution is realisable and applicable within the partnership's lifetime. Both as a test case in the partnership's case municipalities and as a commercially scalable, climatically robust solution that can work in many sites in Denmark.
