The unique feature of the EB regulator is that it can control the flow of large volumes at low heads. It is used in situations where the preferred flow volume is so great in relation to the head that it is not possible to use a vortex flow regulator.
An EB flow regulator is available with coupling (wedge coupling) and a stick to facilitate convenient, clean installation and dismantling from ground level. This enables inspection, service or capacity changes of the flow regulator to take place under the best hygienic and working-environment conditions possible.
If supplied with wedge coupling, the following control options are possible:
- Throttle effect when the flow regulator is installed in a normal position
- Bypass when the flow regulator is dismantled/lifted off
Mosbaek's single baffle flow regulator is available in many dimensions and is custom-designed in each individual instance. The flow regulator's characteristic is parabolic, like other simple flow-control techniques. The regulator provides maximum discharge at the design point (hdesign Qdesign). The EB regulator has an adjustable orifice. The orifice is infinitely adjustable to ±25% of the capacity in the centre position. The setting interval for each individual regulator varies. The capacity can be changed on site without having to replace components: two screws are loosened with a hexagon spanner and the orifice is adjusted. If you wish to change the capacity, you can contact Mosbaek A/S. We identify the flow regulator from its reference number and then calculate the orifice setting for its new capacity.
The type EB flow regulator is mounted on the outlet of the inspection chamber, meaning that it is submerged during operation.
The rounded bottom of the flow regulator and straight flow through the flow regulator gives Mosbaek's single baffle flow regulator ideal self-cleaning properties. During operation, the regulator's orifice opening is unchanged.
In many instances, the single-baffle flow regulator can be built into existing or specially designed manholes or tanks as it requires very little space.
