Besides these operational features, the solution also offers other advantages.

Manholes that have had to contain a flow regulator and a non-return valve can give some challenges. When a flow regulator is installed at the outlet of the manhole, it has been necessary either to place the non-return valve inside the outlet pipe or over/into the inlet of the manhole. In the first situation, the non-return valve is hidden behind the flow regulators mounting plate and is therefore difficult to access. In the second situation, it takes up space in the manhole unless it is inserted into the inlet, but there it is also difficult to access.

So, in addition to increased accessibility, this overall solution takes up less space compared to the situation where the non-return valve is mounted separately at the manhole’s inlet, thus, the integrated non-return valve saves space.

Also, the mounting is simpler, as only one unit must be mounted instead of two - the mounting itself is completely identical to mounting a flow regulator with wedge coupling.
