Statement from Ishøj Forsyning
Ishøj Municipality has used Mosbaek flow regulators in a wide variety of drainage projects.
We have experienced that Mosbaek provides the best solution for each specific project. Their advice is dedicated and professional, and whenever we need to think outside the box, Mosbaek is ready with their proactive assistance so we can jointly develop the best solution. This was the case for a project in the catchment area called “Strandområdet” (coastal area), where we needed to limit the flow from each plot. The first units were installed in 2008, and by late 2016 we will have established about 600 of what we in Ishøj call “climate management units” in Strandområdet.
Our revised waste water management plan for 2014–2022 takes account of the possibility of controlling the discharge of rainwater from private properties by installing climate management units with discharge restricted to 0.5 l/s.
Our current experience of operating them is that residents themselves maintain their climate management unit by flushing it out once a year, just as they clean roof gutters and gutter wells around the house.
Besides the Strandområdet project, we’ve been using flow regulators in the municipality as far back as 2003. We’ve never experienced operating problems and, as there are no wearing parts, the flow regulators don’t need servicing. All we have to do is inspect them like other simple installations in the sewer system, like inspection chambers and pipelines.
