Mosbaek awarded City of Ottawa Contract

Mosbaek North America Inc., a subsidary of the Danish company Mosbaek A/S, has secured an order for 650 flow regulators – the largest to date for the North American subsidary.

Mosbaek North America Inc. supplies highly engineered flow regulators for a wide range of storm and wastewater applications. The flow regulators also called water brakes are designed with industry leading hydraulic braking features making them some of the most technically advanced flow control
products on the market. Mosbaek has over 50 years of experience in designing and manufacturing
flow controls and each flow regulator is individually tailored to the customer’s needs. The US
corporation, established in 2008 is located in Atlanta.

Building on the success of their initial launch almost 3 years ago, Mosbaek is continuing to grow. The
City of Ottawa contract award was the result of many months of product evaluation and technical review
by the City. Mosbaek flow regulators are now approved by the City for all future orders that the City and
Ottawa area contractors will place for both new storm sewer construction and retrofits of existing
infrastructure. The flow regulators had to meet hydraulic performance, ease of installation and
accessibility requirements specified by the City of Ottawa’s Infrastructure Services Department.

The installation of the flow regulators will begin in November of 2010. Ottawa has a combined sanitary
and storm sewer system which during large storm events experiences surcharged conditions causing
low lying areas to flood. During these times, sanitary sewers can back up into basements in homes and
businesses causing damage and unsanitary conditions. The Mosbaek flow controls alleviate these
problems by reducing the inflow of stormwater into the storm sewer diverting it temporarily to street level
and allowing the sanitary sewers to catch up. The flow regulators will be designed in Denmark and
manufactured in Quebec.

Mosbaek North America Inc was established through the “Accelerator Program” at The Trade
Commission of Denmark in Atlanta. The Danish Trade Commission is a governmental entity
commissioned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark to assist Danish firms with their
internationalization efforts in the US. The Trade Commission harnesses the resources of the Danish
Consul and a network of commercial, legal and investment professionals.
