Centrifugal Flow Regulator, CEH

Semi-dry-installed flow regulator for controlling water volumes of 4-30 l/s.

Centrifugal Flow Regulator, CEH

The Centrifugal Flow Regulator type CEH is manufactured for a specific capacity, typically within a capacity range of 4 l/s up to 30 l/s (see diagram).

The CEH is used where a flow regulator needs to be installed at the inlet of the chamber. The flow regulator is designed for semi-dry installation. If a mounted submerged Centrifugal Flow Regulator is needed, please refer to CEV product descriptions.

CEH flow regulators are used for discharge containing waste water.

All CEH flow regulators have a replaceable outlet baffle which makes it possible to adjust the regulator by ±20% of mean capacity. If you wish to change the capacity, you can contact Mosbaek A/S. We identify the flow regulator from its reference number and then calculate the dimensions of an outlet baffle equivalent to the new capacity.

The unique feature of the CEH regulator is its extremely high attenuation effect which makes it possible to control small flows containing waste water.

The design of Mosbaek's Centrifugal Flow Regulator, type CEH, ensures that the discharge is less than simple flow-control techniques with a similar orifice opening cross-section. See this illustrated in the flow regulator's characteristic's curve.

The CEH flow regulator produces hydraulic resistance by means of a cascade chamber and subsequent vortex chamber. During operation, the cascade chamber at the inlet significantly contracts the inlet jet.

This ideal design gives Mosbaek's Centrifugal Flow Regulators unique attenuation properties which explains why they have the biggest orifice openings and thus the lowest risk of clogging. During operation, the flow regulator's orifice opening is unchanged; it does not gradually get smaller when the water level rises, as is the case for some flow-control techniques.

The CEH flow regulator is mounted at the inlet of the chamber, which is why it is semi-dry during operation. For installation, there is a need for height difference of at least 300 mm from inlet to inspection chamber channel. The accumulation of sediments is minimised by casting benching with a downward slope from all sides toward the chamber channel, as this diverts water away from the chamber/flow regulator. It is also easier to clean the structure by flushing it out from above before descending. This enables inspection, service or capacity changes under hygienic conditions.

Proporties

  • Controls flow by using a cascade effect at the inlet and centrifugal force in the vortex chamber
  • Large orifice opening that remains unchanged during operation
  • No moving parts
  • No electric components
  • Made of Acid-resistant stainless steel AISI 316L (Werkstoff 1.4404)

The properties reduce costs for installation, operation and maintenance.
